Sports culture transformation in the globalization era: media influence, commercialization, and technological innovation in athletic preparation
Synopsis
The monograph “Transformation of Sports Culture in the Age of Globalization: The Influence of Media, Commercialization, and Technological Innovations in Athlete Preparation” examines the comprehensive process of change in world sports under the influence of global trends. The author reveals how modern media—television broadcasts, social networks, and digital platforms—shape new forms of sports content consumption, alter the perception of athletes, and influence mass participation in physical activity. Special attention is paid to the commercialization of sports: from sponsorship contracts and advertising campaigns to the branding of entire leagues and international tournaments, which creates new challenges in upholding fair play and ethical standards. The book analyzes key technological innovations in training processes: the use of wearable sensors, biometric systems, virtual and augmented reality to optimize preparation and prevent injuries, as well as the role of big data and artificial intelligence in tactical planning and sports career management. A separate section is devoted to the impact of international competitions, such as the Olympic Games and world championships, on infrastructure development, regional economic growth, and the core branding strategies of sports organizations. Special attention is also given to the cultural and social aspects of globalization: the rise of mass fandom and the transformation of national traditions. The author provides examples of integrating innovations into youth programs and sports academies. He concludes that only a holistic approach—combining media, business, science, and government policy—can ensure the sustainable development of sports in the 21st century.
