Eastern Traditional Physical Perfection Systems and Martial Arts: Their Influence on Global Sports Pedagogical Thought
Synopsis
The monograph " Eastern Traditional Physical Perfection Systems and Martial Arts: Their Influence on Global Sports Pedagogical Thought" explores the evolution and modern significance of eastern systems of physical improvement and martial arts in the context of global sports pedagogy. The author analyzes in detail the historical roots of such practices as yoga, Qigong, Tai Chi chuan and various styles of martial arts, tracing their philosophical and cultural foundations in Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism. The book consists of four thematic sections. The first section describes methodological approaches to the study of bodily practices and their classification. The second section is devoted to a comparative analysis of training techniques and principles of teacher–student interaction. The third section examines the process of transformation of Eastern practices in their adaptation to Western educational systems and sports institutions. The fourth section contains case studies on the implementation of Oriental techniques in the programs of schools, universities and commercial fitness centers in different countries. Special attention is paid to the influence of Eastern philosophy on the formation of values and educational goals in sports: the development of selfawareness, ethical norms and the harmonious unity of body and spirit. The author relies on empirical data, interviews with masters and teachers, as well as the results of cross-cultural comparisons. The monograph will be useful to researchers, teachers and practitioners seeking to expand the methodological tools of modern sports pedagogy.
